The Easter symbols and different traditions on the occasion of Easter have evolved over a period of time. Although, some traditions have been there for centuries as it is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christ was born to mother Mary as a miracle child, and is the prophet of Christianity. Hence, the most prominent of the symbols of the Christian holiday is the Easter bunny. The other includes Easter eggs, Easter Parade, Easter lilies and finally Lamb. The uniqueness is guaranteed, as these symbols are the source of driving & bringing change. Hence, as part of some of the modern additions in the traditions of Easter is the consumption of Easter Candy.
The celebrations of Easter will take place in Canada on the 4th of April this year. Also known as Easter Sunday, and the next day, also known as Easter Monday. Hence, will be a public holiday in some provinces in Canada. While in few provinces it’s a Statutory Holiday, & in others it’s optional.
THE EASTER BUNNY:
It’s not mentioned in the Holy Bible. More importantly, as there is no mention of the long-eared short tail creature who is the source of delivering the decorated eggs. This is specifically to well-behaved children on the Easter Sunday. The Easter bunny has over the years become and transformed into being the most prominent symbol of the Christian holiday.
Having ambiguity over many things that relates to Easter bunny being a symbol. As they are considered globally, being the symbols of creators of new life. According to ancient beliefs they are symbol of fertility and new life. Easter Bunny as a symbol shows that soon there will be a huge revolutionary change in your life. EASTER EGGS:
Another most significant symbols of The Easter festival is the Easter Eggs. The customs of Easter Eggs is more linked up to the pagan traditions. Similar in contrast to the Eastern Bunny, as symbol of new life, according to ancient beliefs. Said to possibly represent the emergence of Jesus Christ from the tomb and resurrection. Dates back to at least 13th Century are the decorations most associated with these eggs. Hence, as according to some vital sources.
LAMB:
As a sacred symbol associated with multiple religions, as well as along with Christianity. In the Islamic traditions as well, as it is used more commonly. This is as the livestock animal used for performing the duty of sacrifice. In Christian religion, Lamb is a traditional Easter food. However, Jews who have converted to Christianity continued with the tradition of eating Lamb at Easter.
As relates to history, lamb is the first fresh meat that is available. This is especially after a very long winter and no livestock to slaughter.
THE EASTER LILLIES:
The Easter lilies are one of the symbols apart from Easter Bunny, Lamb, Easter eggs and others. Used in form of decorations in Churches and homes, around the Easter holiday. Furthermore, they symbolises the purity of Christ to the religion Christianity. These includes the many sacrifices made by Jesus for the love of Christianity and for the love of people. The lilies in form of flowers further symbolises the rebirth and the hope of Christ’s resurrection.
In the year 1777 they were bought to England, however, lillies are native to Japan. Slowly with time the lilies became the unofficial flower of Easter celebrations all across the United States.
