Fans Take Lead on Singing ‘Someone You Loved’ as Lewis Capaldi Battles Tourette’s Syndrome Tics During Live Performance

Fans in FRANKFURT, Germany, stepped to fill in for Lewis Capaldi on Tuesday night. Precisely, when the singer suffered an outbreak of tics resulting from the condition known as tourette’s disorder. In the final song of the evening and his most popular smash, “Someone You Loved,” the singer tried to get through the bridge to the final chorus, but ultimately backed off and let the crowd be the sole lead.

As the crowd sang the tunes, Capaldi handed his remaining guitar picks to the crowd.

It’s not the first time that Capaldi had to deal with the effects of Tourette’s in an event. In the last month, he addressed the crowd at a concert in Belfast, Northern Ireland, “You may notice me moving just a bit here. It’s nothing to worry about, I’m suffering from Tourette’s.”

“I’m good, baby. In here, where I am, Absolutely, I’m fine,” he said. “I’m completely well, everything’s fine I’m just twitching just a bit.”


The singer was just recently diagnosed with the Syndrome after she shared the news earlier in the year.

“I’ve always experienced it, it seems,”. He said in an Instagram Live video in September. Finally, finding a reason for the arm twitches. The actor had noticed himself having during interviews that date back to the year 2018. “The most frustrating part about it is that when I’m happy I experience it when I’m stressed, I experience it. Also, when I’m satisfied I feel it. It happens frequently. There are days that are more painful than others. While, other days it’s less painful.”

The 26-year-old revealed his diagnosis partly to alleviate his followers. Curiosity & prevent others from contributing to his actions the possibility of using drugs.

“And you can see that underneath every TikTok and the like People are asking”Why is this guy twitching?’ which is perfectly fine. It’s fine to be curious. I get it,” Capaldi said. “It’s an entirely new concept and I’ve not yet learned much about it. I’m learning. I’ve been using Botox on my shoulder to stop it from moving. It was successful for a while.”

The Grammy-nominated musician put out his debut album in 2019, and has released a string of singles in recent months in anticipation of his upcoming sophomore effort Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which is set for release in May.

Moreover,Capaldi made public his health issues through an Instagram Live video in September after he stated that his “didn’t like people to believe I was using cocaine or some other drug.”

He explained that the diagnosis in the previous year came with “so many senses” to him as the doctor could see his shoulder shaking during interviews in the year 2018.

In the year 2018, American singer Billie Eilish stated that she was also suffering from Tourette syndrome following getting diagnosed as a young child. She revealed to David Letterman that while most people would not be aware of her behavior, she could be “exhausting.”
