Edmonton Oilers to Launch Potential Record-Breaking 50/50 Raffle

Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation are creating an all-day Mega 50/50 raffle. That is, in aid for the Ben Stelter Fund. The raffle began in the morning of February 7. Further, will continue until February 17 with what may be a historic pool.

Stelter won the hearts of fans and players alike in the last season. Prior to his death at the age of six in the summer of last year. After an unbeatable fight with glioblastoma. It is an aggressive form of brain cancer.

“It was a tragedy and something you’re unable to imagine,” Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid stated in a press release. “He was a wonderful young man with an incredible heart. It is never a good idea to watch your family, or even children. Obviously, suffer similar circumstances, so every joy we could bring to him was worth it. Together, we can keep Ben’s spirit alive, and combat this terrible disease all together.”

As well as the 50/50 draw Edmonton Oilers players will also wear helmet decals. As well as, warm-up jerseys sporting an “Stelter” namesake bar as well as a special patch in February. Will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to Ben Stelter Fund.

CHILDREN’S AID IS THE BIGGEST SUPPORT FOR THOSE SUFFERING FROM GLIOBLASTOMA:

“It is our aim to support children suffering from Glioblastoma. Thus, along with other types of brain tumors” stated Ben’s parents Mike Stelter and Lea Stelter. “Pediatric cancer research remains severely underfundedand we would like to contribute to the transformation. We’re looking for better treatment options and improve outcomes for the children who are fighting these terrible diseases.

“Ben was blessed with a variety of wonderful experiences during his fight that helped him keep his positive outlook and smile. We want to be able to provide the same experience to other children fighting the same situation..

“We hope to aid in improvements and change in cancers of children as well as the treatment options that children undergo. It is our passion to providing children happiness and memorable experiences.”

The Mega 50/50 offers 22 prizes for early bird buyers, including the Edmonton Oilers and packages for concerts; the Sandals Resort Vacation Package; 250,000 Aeroplan points and an Draisaitl signed jersey and the chance to meet and greet McDavid.

The purchase of a raffle ticket of $100 or more get a free six-month subscription with the Edmonton Oilers+. a $25 towards River Cree Hotel and Casino and an additional $25 Sports Bet in conjunction with Play Alberta, too.
