The Spanish giants appeared ready to go into the new season fighting Frankfurt’s ferocious pressing and creating opportunities up forward, while reducing the threat in the back. David Alaba opened the scoring in the first half , scoring an easy strike from the corner, while Benzema started his scoring streak with a strike in the second half.

Frankfurt did not have many chances Frankfurt had only a handful of chances as Daichi Kamada was unsuccessful in their only chance of 14 minutes. In the following minutes, they were uninterested in general, despite the absence of their star player Filip Kostic.
