As we head into February which is notoriously the coldest month of the year and this period of winter is  often referred to as the “dog days of winter”, January is going out like a lamb.  In the southern Ontario region, we had  a blast of snow last week which was immediately followed by mild temperatures which continues to this day.  Whatever snow we had is melting and winter driving has been rather pleasant so far. Hopefully other parts of the country are enjoying the same winter we are experiencing with the exception of Atlantic Canada which was hit with record snowfall a few weeks back.  The amount of snow that fell over a short period of time caused the  region to declare a state of emergency and the coast guard was called in to help the residents dig out from the record snowfall.
